Callaway X-18 Irons Review

Callaway X-18 Irons are successors to the highly regarded X-16's, and represent the latest advances Callaway has to offer.  They boast all of the same features players have grown to appreciate in the long and storied history of the X-Series.

Notable Differentiators
The X-18 Irons get their playability and forgiveness by taking advantage of Callaway's S2H2 (Short Straight Hollow Hosel) design.  S2H2 removes weight from within the hosel and moves it lower and out to the perimeter of the head providing balance and enhanced feel regardless of ball location at time of impact.  Additionally, the Callaway X-18 irons have a thinner top line than previous models, which further allows for perimeter weight distribution improving overall playability.

As if all those advances weren't enough, the X-18 irons leverage Callaway's Variable Face Thickness (VFT) engineering to move the center of gravity on each iron based upon the loft of the club.  This advance allows for the tuning and optimization of launch angle and height control as you move your clubs.

The Bottom Line
As always, Callaway has packed a significant amount of technology, pro-grade look and feel, and, most importantly, value into their irons.  The X-18 Irons have a solid feel, are easy to hit, and would be a welcomed addition to virtually any player's arsenal.
