Ping i5 Irons Review
The Ping i5 irons feature components of both the G5 series and higher end S-Series clubs. Offering a balance of forgiveness and playability, they are positioned for mid handicap players with a degree of shot shaping ability, but still in need of a bit of forgiveness every now and again.
The Ping i5 iron is manufactured as a cast stainless steel head with a reduced offset offering a tour-like look at setup. The i5 iron shares many of the same features as the larger G5. Most notably of these features is the large custom tuning port to dampen vibration and smooth the feel at impact. A true middle of the road iron, the i5 sits between the more traditional game improvement G10 and Rapture and the more tour focused S59 blades. As always, Ping offers a robust set of shaft and loft / lie combinations to insure that each player has a setup that is ideally suited to their game. Few equipment manufacturers offer the variety of customization options as the good folks at Ping.

The Bottom Line
If your game has evolved out of hacker status, but you have yet to break par anywhere outside the local mini-golf track, the Ping i5 is the club for you.
